In other news, I realized voting at the MGC ended a couple days ago, and went and checked, and I'm the artistic winner! Thanks to everybody who voted for me! On that note I'm busy coloring another Owen pic...

Date: Apr. 17th, 2008 06:32 pm (UTC)a. I don't quite remember, except we got talking about Courtney having a familiar and inviting a cat to live with her. I don't do cute and cuddly so what came to mind was a smartass beat up thing. Thus Fisher was born.
b. He's way more loyal than he wants to let on.
c. He's a cat, in so many ways. A little arrogant, self-centered, careless, all things that can get him into trouble.
d. Fisher's not too hard to write for, but he is limited. I think of him as part of Courtney's supporting cast.
e. Christmas, with spazzing around the Christmas tree, was wonderful. *trips Courtney on the stairs* *excitedspaz* 'Hey. what are we excited about, again?'
f. Fisher's around, and I'll keep playing him as long as you're playing Courtney, but he's more of a sidekick than an independant character.

Date: Apr. 17th, 2008 06:48 pm (UTC)b. Persephone is very intelligent, and fiercely defends the things she believes in. She's a midwife before all else and very protective towards children and most women.
c. Persephone has a harsh view of the world, and it's one that does not mesh with Courtney's. She sees Night Things as more like animals than people.
d. Unfortunately Persephone is very hard for me to write. I don't play female characters much, and she's really a die-hard feminist, and it's a stretch for me.
e. There's an Au thing in a notebook with Persephone meeting a little-used character of Bridgie's named Jezebel. Jez is a teenage girl who basically practices witchcraft in an older, more raw form like Persphy does. They got along well, although the game didn't get real far.
f. She's still around, and she needs to come back and cause more trouble. Courtney & Co. still don't know who was behind the white stag and I'd like all that to get resolved someday, but Bridgie's been taking a break and I've been lazy with her. There was a brief canon RP where she and Courtney met. I think it would be really cool for Courtney to get to know her a little, maybe even like her a little, and then find out she was behind the Night things being drained and Aloysius de-aged and all.

Date: Apr. 17th, 2008 07:05 pm (UTC)a. Morri begged and bugged me to come up with a DC character. I decided I wanted somebody who'd handle the truth well, and bounce off John some and throw the other characters a few curveballs. I came up with the homeless guy with a nickname, bounced around nicknames for a while and hit on Rat, which immediately made me think of Basil Rathbone for some reason. I started to form a look around lanky and with a big nose, and then I got lucky enough to find these pictures of an utterly perfect PB. I think once I found those pictures it all clicked.
b. Rat's very perceptive about people, and he's very much a gentle peacemaker. It's hard not to like him, because he's just so nice and friendly.
c. He's maybe a little too loyal, and he'd willingly sacrifice himself for other people whether they'd appreciate it or not. This may become a problem if the city ever gets to a point where they need a face to give people for who's pulling the strings. He'd take on that role even knowing it might get him lynched.
d. Rat's pretty easy to write, his speech patterns are more informal than Sarah and Schreber's because he hangs out with a lower class, and his laid-back personality isn't too far from mine. I'm not as perceptive about other people though, not by a long shot. It's one of those things that can be faked in RP because of OOC knowledge.
e. I really liked the thread in the diner with Sarah, where she started telling him the truth. He was very calm about the whole thing, and polite in a friendly way, even though he was reeling a little internally.
f. I've hinted I have something big in mind for Rat? The record album and Willie are a part of that. What I'm trying to hint at is that he has a vastly more detailed history than most people in the city. There's an unusual amount of evidence for his memories, which is part of why he's really struggling to let go of that as a reality. Rat's actually living in a tricky state of half-belief right now. I've talked about all this with Morri and been given the go ahead... the only reason the Strangers would construct such a detailed past is if he's woken up during tuning before, maybe more than once (obviously his last time for that was before the start of the movie timeline). And you might be able to take the idea from there, but I don't want to type it out yet...

Date: Apr. 17th, 2008 07:46 pm (UTC)I liked the diner scene a lot, too. Sarah was certainly not expecting Rat to take things as well as he did. She didn't take things very well (of course, she was told in a rather mean way).

Date: Apr. 17th, 2008 08:07 pm (UTC)Partly she was a hell of a lot gentler than Schreber was, partly Rat just keeps a very cool head even in situations that weird him out.

Date: Apr. 18th, 2008 12:52 pm (UTC)b. Telve has very strong ideas about fighting injustice, and protecting those who need it.
c. Oh man, where to start. He's abrasive, lecherous, misanthropic, and there's the former drug addiction...
d. Telve is incredibly easy to write. I can play Telve with my eyes closed, the same as D.S.
e. Too many RP notebooks OMG! He fills several three inch binders, remember? The Haven game remains one of my better games overall, even though Arraka'ar was still evolving.
f. Telve's overall life is plotted out through death and reincarnation, you know the gist of it, but there's lots of details in between I'm happy to play. He's got a long life and there's lots of space to fill up.

Date: Apr. 25th, 2008 04:33 pm (UTC)b. He's actually pretty kind, despite the gruff manner. He puts up with a lot of shit.
c. He grumbles and grouches and comes off as a cantankerous bastard.
d. He's pretty easy to write for, he's a little bit of an archetype for me.
e. I've still never had a game that fully utilized him the way I want, but the weird little AU thing with Courtney was sweet, and so was the one in Bridgie's Magecraft.
f. He's around. I really like having him in the Labyrinth on LJ, I just wish the place was more active.
