If it's a character I don't know, you'll have to provide a reference picture or a really damn good description.

I don't promise to do this in a timely manner, but I tend to work pretty fast...

What kind of sword does Mel use, and is she right or left handed?

The Astral Vine, her first sword ever, is a basic longsword. I think the other ones she uses are the same kind. (The person that gave her the swords didn't tell me what kind they were. *grumps*) And she's right handed, despite the fact that she uses her left hand for drawing and stuff.

The sketch has serious issues. I'm not happy with her face at all. I'm not sure if I have the energy to fix it either, since I already redrew her face and one hand half a dozen times. At a certain point you gotta just leave off. Had a photo taken of me from slightly above for reference, but that was tricky to work from because I no longer have the scrawny frame of a teenager. Well Bridgie's done one 'sketch', which is colored and shiny, so now I feel like an underachiever. I'm really not quite happy with this so I might redo it yet. Mel is tricky because I end up looking at your icons for reference and you've got so many different chicks there...

Okay, still haven't seen the movie and I have no idea how they did up Lady Una in it, but this is based on Vess' illustrations. In the graphic novel thingy, there's a moment where Yvaine is sitting up beside Tristan while he sleeps, the night before the market and his going back through to Wall. His mom shows up and talks with Yvaine a little, and Yvaine reaches out and touches the chain. Una says 'you get used to it, in time.' Yvaine goes 'orly?' and Una goes 'No.'

OMG THAT IS SO PRETTY! I am still working on my other commissions, but this is truly beautiful! She looks a lot like the movie version...the movie has her as a human looking thing though, not so much fantasy looking, but the dress and the way she is standing...and that whole part you are talking about is in the movie. Nice! Thank you. ^_^

Yeah, she's got this kind of fae look to her in his drawings, and she's described as having pointed ears, slightly furred and almost catlike. Her costume looks very gyspy-ish to me. I can scan in the original piece of art this is based on if you want. They're much further away and less detailed in his picture, but Una's pose is about the same.
