Zoo animals get naughty in the spring

The obnoxiousness I posted about last week aside, this weekend has been busy in good ways. Saturday we took a trip to the Richmond Metro Zoo, which was a slightly hellish drive, but well worth it, and I didn't get lost at any point so that's all good. Photos are awesome, I love taking photos, but my newest obsession is Windows Movie Maker and I made a definite effort to take lots of video. It paid off... Some of this was taken by Alexa, the foster kid we've been mentoring, but really there was way too much video and photos to fit in here. The first video is just a compilation... but the second one is the tigers being very frisky. There was a lot of that going around at the zoo.

I'll try to update with art again next time, but my nerves are a little frazzled since I'm expecting a call from insurance lawyers this week. Thank you to everybody who's being sympathetic.

Edit: Changed and re-uploaded the first video, hopefully this one will fly. I can only handle one lawsuit at a time.

Hey, at least someone's gettin' some!

Here's hoping the insurance debacle looks, in retrospect, like much ado about very little. (Until then, I recommend chamomile or mint tea for the stomach.)

The tigers were, the deer were thinking about it, some ibis birds were but it was after we left the cage, and apparently a chimp was having fun all by itself according to some other people we ran into there.
It's spring.

It looks like the worst thing that could possibly come out of this for me is a raise in my insurance rate, but it's still stressful, because I have to keep reliving the whole damn thing for informational purposes.

Bahaha. Oh, you wacky tigers.

You always see video or hear about other people catching that kind of stuff, but this is the first time it's happened to me and I'm just thrilled I had a camera with me that can take video clips.

Oh, jeez, I just got around to watching the first one, too, and now the "Thanks for Watching" tiger is cracking me up. Also, yay ibises! Also also, I love the ostrich family. Though I don't know enough about ostriches to know whether that guy was saying "STEP AWAY FROM MAH WOMAN" or trying to get a little somethin-somethin on the side while his wife watches the nest.

X) His name is Rajah, he's the one who's scoring in the other video. I don't remember seeing any other male ostriches, so we figured he was doing the 'hey look my wife laid eggs' dance. She actually laid an egg right in front of us about two minutes before he started this up.

Yeah, I knew that was Mr. I'm A Tiger And I Got Some. *snrk*

Also, wow. You have seen an ostrich lay an egg! That's incredibly cool. So yeah, I guess that must have been him doing a little cheering section. I have to say I'm glad my husband didn't do exactly that when we had a baby.

Um... Who's WMG, and what trouble do they have with personal video?

I'm not sure... but you're not the only one getting that message. Uhh.. I don't know what to do because I can see the video fine, so I'm not sure what's going on...

Okay, wow, even LJ doesn't like me.

Yeeeah, see edit to the post. I'm uploading a new version now.

Ok, the bit with the synchronized wing waving at the beginning totally cracked me up.

Yay! I had it synched up pretty well on the first version, too. I was going for the ostrich dance to hit just when the music really picked up.
