Comp update:
Old HD backed up (OMFG that took forever)
MP3 player/dig camera/Wacom art tablet on new comp
IE and Mozilla with bookmarks and Flash updates on new comp
Music on new comp (Also a long process)
Kitten entertained for hours by cursor on big new comp screen

To do tomorrow:
Hook up scanner
Install ISP/import connection
Find my @&*^&$(& FTP program.

To do tonight:
Sleep

I had to back up all my files a couple months ago. Sweet holy mother of Nikolai Tesla. Wow, do I have a crapload of crap.

Then wiped and restarted the whole thing, reinstalled, and dumped my crapload of crap back into its shiny new storage facilities.

Still can't get the bloody scanner to respond, though. Distressing.

Yeah... I don't do backup often enough, but it seems like every time I do, the number of disks it takes grows exponentially. I swear I spent most of the day just burning disks.

Turns out I still had the right scanner drivers, right down to the install file, on the old comp. The file has such a goofy name I didn't recognize that's what it was, so I didn't burn it to a disk... so now I need to fire up the old comp again and see if I can nab it onto the flash drive.

Because this computer is inexplicably slow online, so I don't want to redownload when my OS hasn't changed... Wish me luck.
