MI trip round two.

You guys asked for it, so here's a photo post. These pictures are way better than the crappy cartoons, but feel free to compare. These should be in roughly chronological order.

This is my uncle Richard, the one I'd never really met, and my dad. My dad would be the one who looks like Santa Claus. He shaved the beard off once when I was a kid, and it was weird.

And me on the couch between Uncle Richard and his wife Toni.

I didn't take many photos at [livejournal.com profile] motherdragon and [livejournal.com profile] dragonwhishes house, and I feel bad for that. But here's Karen and Mel chilling, and Dresden on the leash because he wasn't chilling. I think Mel's holding the book Shad sent along for her.

Mugging for the camera.

They told me this story about a rhea in the backyard (That's REE-uh, not RAY-uh for those who don't want to spend ten minutes with me staring blankly at them), and then they took me to see it. This guy has one male rhea, three female rheas (one albino), a ram with three horns, a llama, a pig, some deer, geese, I forget what all else, and a black swan who wanted to kill us all in a big yard together. peacefully. Except for the swan, who hates us all. This is the male rhea, and Mr. Angry swan in the corner. More pictures of aminals available.

Just try and tell me this isn't a dinosaur in disguise.

Back at Grandma's there was a big gathering of family, and I got to meet the new... second cousin? Something like that. First one for me on this side of the family. Landon is a little over a year old I guess, and he kept wanting to play the organ, which is fortunately not on so he can bang away on the keys soundlessly. That's his dad, my cousin Mark, holding him. You win the cookie if you can spot me in this photo.

And my cousin Kevin entertained him most of the evening, but he couldn't get the MP3 player earbud in Landon's ear because he wanted to look at it at the same time.

After everyone had gone I took a random picture of Grandma I'm not sure she was expecting. I've really only ever had the one set of grandparents, so now she's the only one I've got left.

My parents wanted to look at places up along Lake Huron, and I guess I could stand it if they move there. Nice place, even if it doesn't smell like the ocean. I mean, because it's not. But it fools you by looking like the ocean. Damn tricksy lakes.
My dad and my mother here, not sure why she's shading her eyes, and my Aunt Mary and Uncle Grant.

Things get blurry after that... there was some more shopping and stuff... here's a last visit photo: Me, my Aunt Lorraine, her sons Kevin and James, and her husband Gene who was a minute before the photo being tickled by James.

And the last day there was a big lunch thing, where my mother took lots of blurry photos of us all at the table with me having weird expressions. Yagh. But! Here's the sisters from oldest to youngest: My mother (bending down some, not sure why, because she's taller than that), Mary, and Lorraine, with their mom.

Genetics are funny, since my grandmother got all girls, both my aunts have two boys each, and only my mother had a girl.

Aaanyways, I always end up putting up way too many photos in these posts, and I just hope nobody'd be annoyed at me for posting them.

Additionally, I just may have broken my toe on Bridgie's laptop. It's swollen. The next day. I'm not sure whether or not there's any point in making a doctor's visit that I can't afford anyway.

Sorry, but you did ask! And yeah, that's a good shot. He was totally hamming it up for the camera.
