Once again, the entire week has devoured me whole, chewed me up and spat me out at the end going 'why haven't I gotten anything done?'

I don't know if I ever formally announced it, but Bridgie's parents are paying for her to go back to school, doing a one-year course in medical billing and transcription. She's taking a class early, now, so her courseload will be lighter later, and she's studying hard and doing good but the class she's on is human anatomy and it's made her strange. Yesterday she told me she poked herself in the lacrimal. Picking her up from class is kind of a trip, because they close the parking deck by then, so I get to park on the street downtown. Certain overprotective friends are not happy about this. On the other hand I've seen campus security guards wandering around that hour and it's well-lit and I'm not too worried.

So she's been studying like a fiend, and then we've been going to that UU church and this week we had dinner with the Reverend, partly because we're going to come watch her cats while she's on vacation, which is amazingly trusting of her. Sweet cats though, both longhaired and the more dominant one reminded me a little of Squeakers, and the shy black one wouldn't come out from under the bed for her, but came out for me and rubbed against me. We also met the Reverend's son, who reminded me a lot of our buddy Matt, who just this week left to move to NY. Yagh. We're gonna miss him.
On the way home from dinner with the Reverend we got caught in an absolutely terrifying storm, purple lightning and rain so hard I couldn't see very well and a couple of times on Parham my wheels lost traction, but I didn't tell anybody that until we were home and out of the car. People were still trying to drive the 45MPH speed limit around me. Because they are crazy.

And then last night, thanks to the generosity of Bridgie's mother, Bridgie and I saw the Indigo Girls live at the gardens down the street from our house. I forgot the camera, but I'm still too buzzed about it to care. We saw Melanie, who I know through the puppeteer friend Heidi, there. She was shocked and horrified this was our first time seeing them in concert, and told us about how she and a friend once laid down in front of their tour bus trying to get them to come out for autographs after a show. She was also single for the first time in years and was shopping around, since and Indigo Girls concert is clearly a good place for a chick to pick up other hot chicks, even though who she really wanted to take home was Amy Ray. I saw her down in front hip-bumping with a couple girls during the show, and I hope she found somebody to hang out with after. There was some kind of after party at Babe's, which is the local lesbian bar, but we didn't go. I couldn't drink, because I was driving, Bridgie can't drink because of meds, and we just wanted some real food. Anyways, it was amazing to see them in concert and we heard some newer stuff we didn't know, one of which I fell in instant love with, and older stuff we could both sing along to. It was a very singing crowd, which was awesome. Also hearing their voices blending in person was just incredible, somehow I never realized what a set of pipes Emily's got. The guy that did the opening set was Matt Nathanson? Amazing voice and he came out and sang with them a couple times. We would've bought his album if we'd had the money.

So! Busy week, but awesome. Arts! I still have a pile of stuff to finish. This is an arting weekend and I am going to finish some art this weekend even if my hand goes numb damnit.

Mentioned this one before, but there's only a couple days left for voting in the MGC.
Also not big fancy art, but I covered an entire sketchpage in trying to get the older Shadow's face right.
I will have more art to update with Monday, or I will bludgeon myself with blunt instruments.

But does he look disturbingly like Shad? His nose isn't that... lumpy, though.

You mean like an OMFG he's missing part of his faaaace! Yeah. Canon, I guess, that's part of why he got so good at disguises, he's got this scary facial injury from WWI. I dunno, Shad described the specifics he wanted for that but I'm still not sure I have it right.
