This is Rey doing the happy dance of joy! I just got back from court, and my traffic ticket got dismissed. The judge wasn't even interested in my defense, the cop told him it was a rainy day and he hadn't witnessed it and of course I have a clean record, so... out the door and not even traffic school.
I will say that accident instilled in me the terror of putting on the brakes and skidding helplessly while an object like another car looms up at you and there's nothing you can do. I guess I could have turned toward the curb? Except that would have meant turning towards the sidewalk/cement wall/edge of the bridge. I'm pretty sure the cement wall and chain link would have kept us from going off the bridge, but what it might have done to not the car so much as Bridgie in the front passenger seat is the kind of thing that gives me screaming nightmares. I'm very sorry I rear ended that nice older couple, but since no one got hurt it could have been worse.

Whoo. That's been looming in my brain more than you can imagine. It's a relief just to have it over with.

Other news: I think Bridgie made a post about the bazaar, and if anyone was seriously eyeing the Steampunk Jackrabbit, I have a high-res scan saved so when I get the printer set up I can make nice prints if they're wanted, which I would sell for much cheaper than the original. The first thing of mine to sell, which went along with two of Bridgie's dolls, was a set of Nutcracker cards. I was actually pretty proud of them even though they were done in one evening. Makes me wonder if I should try reproducing them or cleaning up the scans to make prints or something. They were done on cream color paper and that makes printing them a little iffy. I made a number of quick little art card things which didn't sell, so I'll probably scan them, bundle'em and put them on Etsy as a lot. I'll give a link when I do.

Thanks to everyone who voted for me on the MGC! I won artistic by a landslide! Coolness. I'm flailing trying to catch up with comments and faves on DA, I think a lot of people get there through the link on the MGC.
Can't think of much else at the moment... keeping busy, arting, kidsitting. I know LJ was supposed to be down this morning but it seems fine now. Still worried about Christmas and joblessness, but... yeah. Right at this moment I am so relieved about the traffic ticket thing that I can temporarily put the other worries aside.

Congratulations!

So, how much did the inventive rabbit go for, anyway? The deviantart entry doesn't say.

$35, which is the same as I had it up on Etsy for, but I had to take it down in a hurry when it sold. I'm still accepting commissions, too...
And thanks!

Hmmmm... You know, you might be just the artist for me, then! Most artists whose work I really like are way beyond my ability to afford, so I just enjoy in a non-collector-ly way. Might be on to something here, though.

I try to be cheap and open to negotiation. Err... I didn't mean that to sound as wrong as it does. The old info is here, (http://reymonkey.livejournal.com/51831.html) and all still valid. I was also commissioned for a 19" square painting which I think I charge $40 for, and I'm working on a wedding portrait now, I'm very open to stuff besides character portraits, I advertised that because a lot of people who read my LJ are RPers.
Feel free to eml me, rey at crackmonkeyproductions dot net
