Still in WA, interesting times. My grandfather is still in the hospital, doing so-so. My mother is the oldest sister, and she's talking about flying out to Michigan (Where all my other relatives, grandparents included) are, if there's a turn for the worse. If he's okay, he's okay. If he's not... she could be leaving here on a plane sooner than I am. Whee. And she asked me what I will do. If he takes a turn for the worse.

Crap.
I don't know the answer. I don't want to curtail my trip here to fly to Michigan at exorbitant expense to be with relatives I have never known well, a panicking grandmother, go to a funeral, and possibly have to rearrange the end of the trip. I can just imagine my boss firing me for taking a few extra days due to the death of a family member.
But it might not come to that.

In other news, wandered downtown with Alex cheesetarget today, ran into a friend of hers, leluiahkiani, and drank coffee. We went to Dakota Art and Alex started going on about the local chalk art festival, so she bought chalk and we drew on the sidewalk outside her apartment. Gabe madcowchef had to work most of the day, so I only got to see him briefly. Everybody looks pretty much the same, or they both do. I don't know if I do or not.
I like their cats. Well, I like Nem, big ball of black fluff. The other one just stares at me and hides.
Bought too much stuff, gifts for people back home mostly.

It's weird, everything is different and I don't belong. My dad asked if/when they sold the house I'd mind, because I grew up here. I'm not complaining, because the answer is no. It's really wierd, it's like I've lost all connection. I can be nostalgic about where I grew up and everything, but it's not here, it's someplace that doesn't exist anymore and I don't exactly miss it. I like visiting here, it's where Gabe & Alex are, and it's a cool place. I wish Ginny was here with me. But it's not home, and I'm not wishing it was.
I guess I have changed. Mm.

It's all their fault for having this asian dragon curtain thingy on the door. I used to do the local chalk art festival, couple years in a row. My mother says they still keep sending me invitations, but it's in August and I'll be back home in Richmond by then. We can draw with chalk whenever you visit.

The pretty girl says we can do a chalk art-y thing on our front walk when I get back home. *squee* Mebbe we should have an annual thing too...
You and DBear should come visit, then we all could take over the sidewalk... and then I can get Gabe and Alex to come visit... of course, you'd all have to sleep on the roof.
But I bet we could cover the sidewalk in art.
