Have art!

Finally finished and posted Magneto Remembers last night. I'm not realy happy with the coloring job, but I'm at a loss. If anyone has suggestions to give it a little more interest and texture, especially on the background/memory part, I'd welcome the constructive criticism...
So! After finishing that picture bits of my brain were running around going 'must draw something happy! Look at happy things!!!' I'm glad I drew it, I feel like it was worthwhile even if it's not 'high art', but now I need a break. I really want to do more of the character memes like the one I did for D.S. but I was serious about asking who. Come on guys, I have too many characters and I can't decide. I will do one for Dirk, but I've got tons of OC's. Anyone's fair game! On the LJ front there's the Librarian, The recently-named Silens, Terrence Coleburn, Rat, Fisher or the little-played Persephone.
In the Arraka'ar world setting, which I'm also always happy to babble about, there's Telve, Ordeth, Glyndevon, and a few others lurking in my DA gallery.
There's even older or not often played characters like Ocyn, Rayven DreamWalker, poor neglected Fuzzy, adorable Delwin, Hawker, or my much beloved John Mitchell.
Suggestions, really?

In other news, I also owe so much birthday gift art it's not even funny. How wrong would it be to work on Morri's first, since his is this weekend and he can bug me in person? Or maybe I should just give him the keyboard back...

I want to see Fisher and Delwin. Fuzzies! And Telve is always cool.

One Fisher above, Delwin and Telve maybe later to come.
Telve would totally make a crack over that.

I'm afraid I've little advice to give, although I think I can see your concern about the background. Perhaps if you made the building a much darker silhouette? The arguments over high and low art are ridiculous and pointless. Much of what's classified as high art is ridiculous and pointless as well, while I've seen the sandman comics and other pieces of supposedly low art which carry messages of a deep and wonderful nature with an elegance lacking in museum pieces.

Working backwards, sorry, I put my requests in on the other post.

Darker is actually a damn good idea. I may rework that. Thanks!
And yeah, the art world is incredibly... distorted. This is why, despite the fine arts background, I'm sticking mainly to comics and online art and all that, because it's what seems to have real value. No matter how deep and significant you feel your message is, if your art isn't effectively communicating the message than I think artistically you've kind of failed. On the other hand, drawing shit like character portraits is pretty low art because it's commercial and has no message at all except look at this character, but I think there's a place for that. It's nice to make something that falls on the middle ground somewhere.

It's lovely to fire you up and watch you go. ;-D I very much appreciate your character portraits, as well as your deeper artwork.
