You know the drill, gimme song lyrics for RP character drabbles! I don't promise they'll be good, and I don't promise to write your character well, but.. you know.
Dooooo it! The skull meatballs of doom demand it!
I has a birthday cake.

and the best thing you've ever done for me
is to help me take my life less seriously
it's only life, after all.
He never meant to stay so late, but he felt needed. The situation at hand was largely resolved, or at least as far as any of them had any input to it, but the fretting continued. Rat stretched back and sighed, listening to his friends worry over the ripples of chaos they could not control, and tried not to ponder his own role in it. The Nexus had a way of forcing you into situations where you were forced to react, and not always in a way you were proud of.
The two of them were like a mobius strip, he reflected, feeding into each other's fears even as they supported one another. It was Sarah who tried to break the vicious cycle. "I guess all we can do now is clean up the mess. Sometimes I think we just need a vacation from the Nexus, but it never seems to quite work out." She frowned, a pretty, delicate frown that belied the steel hidden beneath. Daniel nodded, still anxious, the slant of the scarred eye making him look like a desperately unhappy puppydog.
Rat felt himself start to nod, then shook his head and stood abruptly, following the impulse suddenly bubbling up within. He laughed, deep and booming, making them all jump. "Life's too short, let the rest of them clean it up! Come on, I want to see the stars on the beach." He picked up his guitar and slung it over his neck, gave them an infectious grin, and strolled to the door.
Slowly, the pretty frown turned to a grin, and Sarah hauled her boyfriend to his feet. "He's right you know. Don't make him hold the door open." She traded a mischevious smile with him as they bustled the bewildered doctor out the door. On the sand under the stars, the tall figure cast his voice out to the sky, singing of springtime and love and the joy of living.
For tonight, the world was at peace.
Sorry, I can't help seeing Sarah and Schreber as a pair. I tried writing something with just Rat and Sarah but it all felt awkward. For the record, Rat would love Indigo Girls music.
