It's a mythical bloodsucking... thing. This (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/uvernon/irrationalfears/series.php) is actually what it made me think of. I'm a longtime Ursula Vernon fan.

Good! I actually got a copy of the book and read it last week. Poor guy. I guess he doesn't die in the musical though. I'll be coloring it eventually, but I've got one more sketch to go and then I'll start from the first one for the meme... Plus I owe a birthday drawing.

Yeah, in the early versions of the musical they had a fake funeral for him, but that got cut out. He just gets reverted back into an animal. The musical take the best and brightest parts of the book and...er..streamlines it a bit. :)
