Tomorrow's still All Soul's Day...

I'm not ready for Halloween to be over yet! If you aren't either, here's an amazing little zombie story written by my friend Mel!
I was a plague doctor for Halloween, which is apparently one of those costumes I have to explain to everybody. Here's a link for the bewildered, and here's a major source of inspiration. He also makes a lot of very cool steampunky leatherwork, but that there is what I based my pattern off. My mask isn't leather, because that's expensive and hard to stitch, but it's thick pleather sewn with waxed linen cord. I want to decorate it a little more and get some good close-ups, but for now...
Bridgie was an adorable butterfly, with awesome wings.

Full costume, although it looks like my hood needed adjusting.

After dinner, I sat out front, very still. It was kind of meditative, after a busy weekend.

People were very wary approaching me, but once I did move, the kids would babble excitedly and ask questions. The adults, on the other hand, stayed scared. One guy dropped some of his candy.
Is it perverse of me that I found that gratifying?

Pictures from this year and last are all on Facebook.
