Darker is actually a damn good idea. I may rework that. Thanks! And yeah, the art world is incredibly... distorted. This is why, despite the fine arts background, I'm sticking mainly to comics and online art and all that, because it's what seems to have real value. No matter how deep and significant you feel your message is, if your art isn't effectively communicating the message than I think artistically you've kind of failed. On the other hand, drawing shit like character portraits is pretty low art because it's commercial and has no message at all except look at this character, but I think there's a place for that. It's nice to make something that falls on the middle ground somewhere.
