Should I be worried?

So I have this lengthy project I've started on, which is a massive list of characters to draw fanart of. All of them are characters I've had a distinct fondness for over the years, and I'm trying to cut it down a little and stick to ones that I had an extended interest in.
This all started when I stayed up late one night reading Mozenrath fanfic, which culminated in my doing a nice piece of Mozenrath fanart, and the pretty girl asking if I wanted to play him, just off the record. We've played two different AU games with him and Courtney, and it works surprisingly well. I don't have any plans to play him online, partly because I've read to much fanfic and the way I play him makes allusions to some fanon that... well, there's some ugly stuff out there. Fanon has some explanations about his past with Destane that we just don't need Morri to encounter or hear about. Yeah, no plans to play the Mozenbrat in the nexus, but... it is tempting.
my next finished piece of fanart was of Tyldak from ElfQuest, who I even wrote craptastic fanfic for when I was a kid, and then I played him a little, off the record, and was fascinated with the better perspective I have on him now. The next thing I know, I catch wind of an upcoming ElfQuest RP, involving people I already know are really cool, and now I'm all set up on flyhighthing to take part in that. I'm excited, I really am, but need to not neglect poor old dirk__gently too much.
Another piece of fanart I started even before the Tyldak one, but am putting off finishing, is of Owen Burnett. I've read lots of Owen fanfic, have an enduring love for Gargoyles (which premiered on my birthday), and once wrote a lengthy fanfic that had a lot about the relationship between Owen and Puck.
Now there's an invocation post on DMOOC, and I'm being encouraged to play him. I'm willing, I'd enjoy it, but geez. If this is gonna happen for every character I do fanart of, I'm screwed...
