An art and some fan-babble
Jun. 18th, 2010 12:06 pmNot much of an update, although thanks to some unexpected dogsitting I might have enough for gas money and medicine by next week, at least. Mostly just uploading art as I finish it. I'm getting towards the end of a sketchbook, and there's still unfinished stuff in it so I feel like I need to go back and finish it all before I allow myself to crack open the new one. I'm weird like that. I also have to buy cheapish sketchbooks, because if I get expensive ones, then I get afraid to use them, because what if the stuff I draw isn't good enough for it?
Anyways! Thanks to the player of
blind_masseur, our household got introduced to Zatoichi and he is awesome. If you don't mind subtitles check out Shintaro Katsu movies, Shintaro Katsu Music on YouTube and/or Zatoichi on Hulu for this stuff. Shintaro Katsu was the actor, although I hear he's one of those ones who kind of fit the role in his real life in some ways, too. It's worth it to listen to this stuff with the sound on, for his deep gravelly voice, and I especially like the later TV series because he really had the role down by then.
Point being I've been watching this stuff off and on and sketching. ( Cut for big Ichi sketchpage )
What's funny is lately I've been watching this and Highlander back and forth (Highlander is an old favorite from back when it first began) and now I keep having weird thoughts of a crossover. Wasn't Connor in Japan about the right time? Dunno.
Thinking about this kind of stuff is way less stressful than real life, anyway.
