X-mas shopping ramble

I am so tired... but I spent money! Yeah, that's a good thing. Took my day off to go shopping with the boys, and VCC was a bust (although I did run into Scott Ford there, which was... interesting but brief), but we got some good stuff at Michael's crafts and then there's this huge dollar store close to the mall. Dropped about 35 bucks there, almost entirely for the angel tree stuff. Also got shiny wrapping paper, because we used almost all of it up last year. This should keep us in stock for a couple years, I hope. We've gotta go to that dollar store more often, they actually carry some halfway decent stuff instead of the really cheap crap you get at most of them. Don't get me wrong, cheap crap has it's place too...

WTF moment of the day: There is advertising on my hot cocoa for the Fox & the Hound coming out on DVD. Not a coupon, not saving points for a coupon, just 'look it's coming out on DVD'. It is alarming how insidious and rampant advertising is.

Edit: I also went into RadioShack, where the guy behind the counter is a face I remember from when I worked there. Can't remember the name, but onew of the older guys that got average sales and is probably a lifer. He would have totally failed a mystery shop, because he said Hi when I came in and that was it. He never came out from behind the counter, even when I played with the dummy cell phone display.
