Soooo, going on a job interview today, for a job I know in advance I'm going to turn down. As appealing as everything else about it might be, the job itself is over on Southside and almost an hour away. I'm looking to get my license this week, yes, but that doesn't mean I'm ready to brave rush-hour freeway traffic on a daily basis yet.
Is going to the job interview stupid of me, or just plain weird? And why do I keep going for receptionist positions at veterinary offices? There's an office right close to us I've applied at every damn time they put up an ad, and they've never called me in for an interview yet, even though they've gotten two different versions of a resume from me and plenty of polite little callbacks to see what the hell the holdup is.
I do good in interviews. I do really good in interviews.

I have been offered every single damn job I have ever had a direct, formal interview for. Every one. I've had possible jobs with no formal interview I didn't get, or that one staffing agency where I interviewed, but she never got me an interview with the actual place that was hiring. I've sent out lots of resumes.
With this kind of track record you might ask why I've been unemployed for months now, and the answer is that I can't seem to get my damn foot in the door to get a call back for an interview. I have revised and revised and revised my resume, applied for different types of jobs, tailored resume and cover letter to those types of jobs, and sent it all off to lots of places.
90% of these places can't be bothered to acknowledge they ever recieved it, and 5% tell me the position is filled.

Off to send off more resumes and try to catch the remaining 5% because look, I even have math skills.
I got mad skillz, yo.
