Thanks, I know I've got qualifications, it's just there must be something wrong with my resume. I wanted a job at the receptionist desk for a vet up the street some months back. Put in my resume twice, called about every other day, showed up in person each time I handed in the resume and once or twice more besides. I could not get a single ****ing response out of them. And yet, they're a great vet, we transferred both cats over to them, and it looked like a wonderful place to work. And this was at a time they had a position open, I wasn't just walking in at random. They never gave me an interview. What drives me nuts is not getting a single response. No one ever even has the decency to call me and tell me 'no thanks you aren't what we need,' or 'sorry we've filled that position,' or just 'we received your resume'. It feeds into an old gripe I haven't had in years, about having my existence acknowledged. I'm not looking for flattery or anything, just if I say hi, it would be nice for someone to say 'hi' back or maybe make eye contact or something. Geez. And I'm ranting again. It just irks me because not only is it frustrating to me personally, but if everyone gets treated like this then it's frickin' rude.
I don't know that he could be held liable, the man has no freaking paperwork in the first place. I mean *none*. I did fill out a W2(is it 2 or 4?) a few days after I started because I tracked it down myself in a forgotten binder. He's a small business, so he's not liable for all the same things a larger company would be. There are currently 5 employees, including myself. That's just how small. Of course we're also understaffed and he won't admit it. He had more until he sold his coin laundry a week ago, but there were only two people working there. I'm pretty damn sure I could get his whole business shut down in a heartbeat, but it's not worth it because I think the plce is slowly folding anyway. I just want to jump ship and let him deal with his own shit.
